LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND NUMERACY (LLN)
It is important that you have adequate LLN skills to meet the learning and assessment requirements of your specific program or course. Our accredited programs in particular, have minimum requirements that may impact your eligibility for the program or impact your ability to successfully complete all of the required learning or assessment activities.
During your accredited training and assessment program, you will be required to hold the necessary LLN skills to carry out the following:
- Reading and interpreting procedures, manuals, drawings, forms and graphs
- Perform basic gas industry calculations
- Participate in group discussions about technical and safety aspects of the program
- Use technology to answer knowledge questions
If you believe that you, or the student you are booking, requires support in the above LLN skills, please inform us so we can arrange a formal LLN assessment and any required supports. Additionally, if your trainer/assessor notices that additional supports may be required, they will discreetly discuss these with you and contact our coordination team, to arrange an LLN assessment and develop a customised support program with you.
EnerTrain recommends that students complete an LLN assessment prior to commencing accredited programs. If you wish to do this, please contact us via email and we will arrange this for you. Our enrolment form will also provide you the opportunity to advise us, that you may require additional LLN support.
EnerTrain uses verbal and online tools to evaluate your LLN skills against the:
- Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) – individual performance in learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy skills.
- Core Skills for Work Development Framework (CSWDF) – a set of knowledge, understandings and non-technical skills such as problem solving, collaboration, self-management, communication and information technology skills that underpin successful participation in work.
Please contact us at any time, before or during your program, to discuss any specific LLN support you may need to successfully complete your program or course.
