This accredited course is for persons conducting Butt welding on utility assets.

 

Course Details:

This course covers the following topics:
  • Identify compatibility of materials for welding
  • Calculate pipe welding parameters
  • Maintain and adjust welding equipment
  • Perform butt welding operations
  • Visually inspect completed joints
This training is refreshed every 2 years.

Students must bring the following to the training:
  • Standard approved cotton work uniform
  • Approved safety footwear
  • Approved safety eyewear
  • Approved safety gloves
  • Pen & notepad
 
Successful course completion results in a Statement of Attainment (partial qualification) with units from the UEG20122 Certificate II in Gas Supply Industry Operations, as follows:

Upon successful completion of the training‚ we will update the Zinfra WAS system with your completed training date.

  • A valid WAS (Pegasus) number is provided for all persons you wish to enrol

  • Participants who successfully complete this training will be issued with a unique welder ID number
  • BEAD STAMP INFORMATION:  Bead stamps are not utilised on the Jemena Gas Network, if you require a bead stamp, please advise us and we can arrange this.  The additional cost for a personalised bead stamp is $250 each.  
  • Booking cancellation fees apply as follows:
    • 0-1 days notice (incl. no show): 100% of course fee
    • 2-4 days notice: 50% of course fee
    • 5 days notice or more: no charge
