Jason Van Koll
Managing Director
Jason has had experience in the utilities industry for more than 20 years, and has held several positions at varying levels, in both Gas Distribution and Transmission streams in VIC, TAS & NSW.
Jason is the current Deputy Chair of the Gas Industry Reference Committee, and holds a Training Expertise position.
Known for taking a risk based approach for problem solving or L&D development projects, Jason provides innovative solutions through consultation, process analysis/improvement and workforce development strategies.

Joe Calabrese
Director, Technical Advisor
Joe has over 40 years’ experience across all areas of the gas industry including:
- Managing utility training within small and large businesses;
- Managing apprentices and traineeships; and
- Delivering accredited and non-accredited training for major clients in the gas distribution and transmission industry.
Joe has worked with clients in each state of Australia and in New Zealand, and all of the gas utilities. He has delivered accredited training and assessment on behalf of Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) such as ZNX(2) for the Zinfra Group and Swinburne TAFE.
Joe established and managed AGL’s RTO after which he established and continues to operate UtiliTrain Pty Ltd which is recognised as NSW’s largest and most respected gas industry training company.
Joe has been a member of E-oz Energy Skills Australia various Gas System Operations Technical Advisory Committees (Gas TACs) developing industry training competencies and qualifications since 1996. Joseph has influenced the gas industry’s training agenda for nearly 20 years as a board member and past Chair of the NSW Utilities & Electrotechnology Industry Training Advisory Body (NSW U&E ITAB) and various E-oz Skills Council committees.

John Granat
Technical Training Manager
John is highly respected as a System Operations specialist, and has been providing specialist training services in this industry stream since 2016. John has also consulted extensively to the industry and has made significant contributions to the improvement of work practices. John has over 13yrs of field experience in Pressure Control on Transmission and Distribution systems.
John has made valuable contributions to the ongoing improvement of the Gas Training Package, via TAC project teams.

Paul Ingram
Gas Distribution Technical Trainer
Paul is a fully licensed plumber and gasfitter with 35 years experience in Natural and LPG, all aspects of industrial and commercial metering installation and in the application and interpretation of AS5601 legislation and policy. He has been delivering training and assessment for the gas industry since 1998 previously delivering training and assessment for AGL, TAFE and UtiliTrain. Paul maintains current skills and knowledge through his ownership of Acacia Gas Pty Ltd.

Mitchell Eddy
Gas Distribution Technical Trainer
Mitchell is a qualified plumber and builder and has 25 years’ construction and utilities industry experience. He is actively involved in WHS safety committees and has supervised and managed field personnel in both the construction and utilities industries. Mitchell is also highly skilled in the development of training resources and programs for the utilities industry.

Trevor is a highly experienced Project Manager and employer in the Gas Industry, with extensive experience in designing, implementing and monitoring various gas distribution and transmission construction projects across Australia. Trevor’s passion for training has been built whilst mentoring his own teams over his career, in the delivery of successful complex projects. Trevor holds particular expertise in construction project methodologies and management, leadership and Work Health and Safety management.
