Qualification programs
EnerTrain delivers qualifications from the UEG Gas Industry Training Package. Our standard qualification programs include classroom training, during workshop (formative) assessment, workplace assessment and post-workshop (summative) assessment. The following qualifications can also be achieved using a combination of training and assessment, assessment-only, recognition of current competency (RCC) and recognition of prior learning (RPL).
UEG20122 Certificate II in Gas Supply Industry Operations
3-12 MONTHS
This qualification provides competencies for entry level gas supply industry activities in transmission, distribution pipeline and cylinder operations and functions.
- Distribution pipeline activities, including laying distribution infrastructure (including pipes); developing gas pipeline infrastructure and reading gas meters in industrial, commercial and rural environments, on pipelines, associated facilities and equipment, and control centres.
- Transmission pipeline activities, including right of way preparation, rigging operations, hydrotesting, laying pipelines, operating transmission pipeline construction plant and equipment, and conducting minor mechanical maintenance.
- Gas cylinder operations for domestic and industrial supply of gaseous fuels, including checking, testing, maintaining and filling of gaseous fuel cylinders and the storage, handling, loading, transportation and distribution of cylinders in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
UEG30122 Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations
Up to 3 YEARS
This qualification provides competencies to conduct Gas Supply Industry activities including installation, maintenance, fault find and repair, operations of distribution and transmission gas pipelines, cylinders and associated equipment.
It provides the required knowledge and skills to carry out work activities autonomously and takes responsibility for their own work.
UEG40222 Certificate IV in Gas Supply Industry Operations
This qualification provides competencies to supervise and conduct Gas Supply Industry activities including installation, diagnostics and maintenance of distribution and transmission gas pipelines, cylinders and associated equipment.
It provides the required knowledge and skills to carry out specialised and/or skilled routine and non-routine work activities autonomously and takes limited responsibility for the work of others.
UNITS OF COMPETENCY
EnerTrain delivers individual units of competency outside of the UEG Gas Training Package, as follows.
CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment
This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment. It includes demonstrating and explaining to clients how to correctly and safely use portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets in emergency situations.
The unit is suitable for those with basic skills and knowledge undertaking routine work tasks under the direction of more experienced workers.
PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility
This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to confine small emergencies in a facility and it applies to occupants who are required to have first attack firefighting skills. It includes preparing for emergency situations, identifying and assessing an emergency, safely confining emergencies, using initial response equipment and reporting on the facility’s emergency response.
Small emergencies in a facility include incidents such as small fires that can be controlled using a fire extinguisher; chemical spills that can be controlled using facility personal protective clothing and equipment and a spill kit; or a vehicle accident where there is no significant injury or damage.
The unit has been developed to cover the facilities as specified in Australian Standard (AS) 3745 and AS4083. For this unit, as covered by AS3745 and/or AS4083, occupants are people attending a facility on a permanent or temporary basis such as an employee, contractor, student or resident, but not a visitor or patient and a facility is a building, structure or workplace that is, or may be, occupied by people (occupants).
