APA Leak Management Process & First On Site Response
This course is for new starters and workers on the APA network.
Course Details:
At course completion‚ students will be able to demonstrate:
- The skills and knowledge required to carry out first on-site response to a gas distribution or transmission pipeline emergency incident, and complete response and relevant documentation.
- These incidents may include gas escapes, gas outages, fires, injury and damage.
- It includes carrying out first on-site emergency response by assessing the extent of the situation and type of incident, making the area safe and reporting back to response/control centre.
- It also includes liaising with other authorities and emergency services, remaining on site and maintaining site safety until support arrives as required.
NON-ACCREDITED INTERNAL APA COMPETENCY
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Students are required to attend initial training for APA Leak Management Process & First On Site Response, delivered by EnerTrain.
- Following the initial training, students will be required to undertake a Field Competency Assessment (conducted by APA), and once this has been satisfactorily completed students will be awarded the following internal competency:
- COM-N024-1 First on site response to a gas pipeline emergencies (including classify a reported leak)
- Students are required to contact their APA Supervisor directly to arrange the Field Competency Assessment with the APA Training Department.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
Students must bring the following to training:
- Normal approved work uniform (personal protective equipment (PPE) safety clothing).
- Protective footwear (steel cap boots)
- Protective eyewear
- Protective gloves
- Pen & notebook

Unfortunately, when you cancel without giving adequate notice, it prevents us from serving another client. This cancellation policy is used as a way of respecting the time commitment of all involved. It explains the process for requesting a cancellation and the fees applicable. This policy is used in fairness to both our business and the clients who would otherwise have wanted a booking.
EnerTrain firmly believes that a good client and business relationship is based upon mutual understanding, we want to be clear from the outset about all the costs you may face when engaging our services, so please contact us if you have any questions.
We understand situations can arise in which you must cancel your enrolment in the course. Due to limited appointment availability, we request that you cancel with adequate notice. This allows us to fill that booking slot. You may cancel by contacting us via:

When accepting a booking proposal or submitting an enrolment request via our website, you understand that we are required to dedicate resources and incur costs to provide the course, even before the course has started. If you cancel your enrolment in the course, you must give us written notice, in which case the below notice periods and fees will apply:
- 5 full business days: no fees payable
- 2-4 full business days: 50% of full course fee
- 1 full business day or less (including no show): 100% of full course fee
