APA CNG Training (Compressed Natural Gas)

Course Details:

The course consists of training in the following:

CNG Trailer (COM-N015-1)

The CNG Trailer Course is designed to support Network operations field based personnel who are required to maintain a temporary gas supply. The training course provides personnel with the knowledge and skills required to perform key tasks associated with CNG Trailer, coupled with reference to associated APA procedures and instructions. Outcomes of the course enable participants to achieve the following outcomes:
  • Connect and then disconnect a temporary gas supply to a consumer/s.
  • Procedures shall be followed in sequence to allow work be conducted for the safe set up, use and filling of the C.N.G. Trailer.


CNG Cylinder (COM-N015-2 & COM-N015-3)

Participants will be able to do the following:
  • To be able to set up and use the compressed natural gas cylinders in accordance with the relevant procedures.
  • To be aware of the safety implications when using the compressed natural gas cylinders.
  • To be able to fill the compressed natural gas cylinders when returned to the depot.
  • Understand how to safely load, unload & transport cylinders on CNG trailers fitted with a solar powered tailgate.
 

PRE-REQUISITE TRAINING

Students must complete the below APA internal training competencies before attending this training:
  • All 4 x APA online induction modules (APA HSE Induction, APA Environment Induction, APA Introduction to Networks & APA Work Party Members)


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
 
  • Students are required to attend initial training for the APA internal competencies COM-N015-1 Tow & Fill Portable CNG Equipment , COM-N015-2 Operate a CNG Cylinder & COM-N015-3 Operate a CNG Trailer  (delivered by EnerTrain).
  • Following the initial training, students will be required to undertake a Field Competency Assessment. EnerTrain will arrange the 4 hour Field Competency Assessment, which will take place on a separate day, directly with the student and their manager, at an additional cost. 
  • Once this has been satisfactorily completed students will be awarded the following APA competencies by APA:
    • COM-N015-1 Tow & Fill Portable CNG Equipment
    • COM-N015-2 Operate a CNG Cylinder
    • COM-N015-3 Operate a CNG Trailer 


NON-ACCREDITED INTERNAL APA COMPETENCY

Successful course completion results in a non-accredited, APA recognised certificate of completion for:
  • COM-N015-1 Tow & Fill Portable CNG Equipment
  • COM-N015-2 Operate a NCG Cylinder
  • COM-N015-3 Operate a CNG Trailer 

(NOTE: This is not nationally recognised accredited training)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
 
Students must bring the following to training:
 
  • Normal approved work uniform (personal protective equipment (PPE) safety clothing).
  • Protective footwear (steel cap boots)
  • Protective eyewear
  • Protective gloves
  • Pen & notebook

Non-Accredited Certificates are awarded only after:
  • Completion of all required training and assessment activities
  • Full payment of all course fees

Unfortunately, when you cancel without giving adequate notice, it prevents us from serving another client. This cancellation policy is used as a way of respecting the time commitment of all involved. It explains the process for requesting a cancellation and the fees applicable. This policy is used in fairness to both our business and the clients who would otherwise have wanted a booking.

We understand situations can arise in which you must cancel your enrolment in the course. Due to limited appointment availability, we request that you cancel with adequate notice. This allows us to fill that booking slot.  You may cancel by contacting us via:
When accepting a booking proposal or submitting an enrolment request via our website, you understand that we are required to dedicate resources and incur costs to provide the course, even before the course has started.  If you cancel your enrolment in the course, you must give us written notice, in which case the below notice periods and fees will apply:
  • 5 full business days: no fees payable
  • 2-4 full business days: 50% of full course fee
  • 1 full business day or less (including no show): 100% of full course fee
All references to cancellation of bookings in this policy, are also relevant to rescheduled bookings.
