CONSTRUCT & LAY GAS DISTRIBUTION SERVICES & MAINS

POLY FUSION INITIAL

  • Successful course completion results in the following:
    • Statement of attainment (partial qualification) from the UEG30121 Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations for PMBWELD301E, UEGNSG200 & PMBWELD302E
    • Non-accredited certificate of completion for PE pipe/fitting identification, saddle/socket fusion & butt fusion up to & including 63mm

DEMONSTRATE FIRST ATTACK FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

  • This training is refreshed according to Victorian gas asset owner requirements
  • Successful course completion results in a Statement of Attainment (partial qualification) with the following unit from the UEG20121 Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations:
    • CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack fire fighting equipment

APA RESPONSIBLE PERSON / PERMIT HOLDER – NETWORKS (APA STAFF & CONTRACTORS ONLY)

  • $160 + GST per student 
  • 5 hours course duration
  • Face-to-face training
  • APA Supervisor approval required
  • Successful course completion results in a non-accredited certificate of completion for:
    • COM-N093-1: Responsible Person / Permit Holder – Networks 
  • Course outcomes, the students will be able to demonstrate the ability to:

    • Identify Hazards & Risks in the Gas Industry
    • Confirm requirements of a Responsible Person
    • Conduct an on-site risk assessment
    • Correctly use the Risk Matrix to Assess Hazards
    • Conduct JHEA risk assessments
    • Accept a Hazardous Task Permit 
    • Work under the conditions of an issued permit

APA FIELD SKETCHING (APA STAFF & CONTRACTORS ONLY)

  • $250 + GST per student 
  • 4-5 hours course duration
  • Face-to-face training
  • Successful completion requires the submission of 2 x field sketches after the training session, for review and assessment by the APA AIS team
  • Successful course completion results in a non-accredited certificate of completion for:
    • COM-N016-1 Prepare simple drawings of as laid gas mains and services 

COMMISSION OR DECOMMISSION GAS DISTRIBUTION PIPELINES

  • Course durations are indicative, based on standard class sizes (generally 4 to 10 students per course).
  • Travel costs for training or assessment outside of Melbourne Metro will apply.
  • Training may be delivered at EnerTrain venues or at your workplace if suitable – no price change applies.
  • Accredited training and assessment does not attract GST.
  • Non-accredited training is generally scheduled on-demand, in response to industry requirements.
